What is the Southern Maryland Hiring Event?

It’s the “Super Bowl” of hiring events within Southern Maryland! – says a recent jobseeker.

In planning an event that brings together those who are looking to hire and those who seek career connections, our vision encompasses a format that distinguishes this event from other events in the area. This event allows employers to meet, interview and hire from a wide array of area talent. Each organization comes with its own focus. Some organizations, such as JobMatch, American JobSource and Veterans Affairs will setup booths where they will provide information only while others are looking for actual candidates to interview for specific openings. Representatives will be available to talk with you about their services, products of their respective organizations and to answer any of your questions about their current and future employment needs. thumbs_up       ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Job Seekers, to help you prepare for this event and any other similar events you may attend in the future, we have put together some valuable information that will assist you as you prepare to meet your next employer. Putting your best foot forward is not always as easy as it seems; especially, when you are in a competitive job market.  So, to simplify that aspect of your job search efforts, we have prepared a powerpoint presentation that shows you the “what not to wear” and “what is appropriate” when you are trying to make that very important first impression. Check out our “Success Boot Camp” presentation below. In addition to our commitment to helping Southern Maryland job seekers “Find Their Next Best Fit,” we’ve put together a list of links that you should find very helpful.

Each year staff and participants of the Job Match Re-Employment project accompanied by staff from the local Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) and the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland  ban together to ensure this event is a roaring success.
